Just Ask Them to Come

Scripture Reading: John 1:35-46

Reflection:

Andrew didn't preach a sermon to his brother Simon. He just said, "come and see." That's it. He didn't have all the theology worked out. He didn't wait until he felt qualified or eloquent. He simply extended an invitation and let Jesus do the rest. You do this constantly without thinking twice, telling a friend about a restaurant, a coworker about a show, a neighbor about a good mechanic. You don't need expertise to recommend something good. You just need to have experienced it and be willing to say so out loud. Somewhere in your life this week is a version of Andrew's moment, an easy, low-pressure chance to simply say, come with me, come and see it for yourself. It won't require answers to every hard question. It just requires you to open your mouth. The invitation was never supposed to be complicated. It was only ever supposed to be honest.
