Learning to be content.

Learning to be content is a daily struggle.

It seems impossible to get away from ads. They are everywhere!

TV. Social Media. Radio.

Not only are we bombarded with ads, marketers tempt us with ads based on web and social media searches. People in our lives talk about the newest and latest greatest thing in their life.

Sadly, too many of us are overwhelmed with a shrinking income, increased prices, and the desire for more.

Paul wrote these powerful words: “I have learned how to be content with whatever I have” (Philippians 4:11 NLT). Contentment is not easy. But, it is obtainable when we rely on God’s strength.

Learning to contentment requires us to give our desires to God and trust Him to meet our needs. That requires a lot of patience and discipline. If you’re like me, I don’t have the inner strength to do that on my own power. I need God’s help to resist those urges to spend more than my bank account has in it.

I hope you learn to trust God so you can be content with whatever you have!
