Remember Where You Started

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10

Reflection: Jesus' first instruction to the wandering church wasn't "try harder" — it was "remember." Remember where you came from. Before He found you, Paul says you were dead — not struggling, not almost there, but dead in the very sins that felt so natural to you. And then God, rich in mercy, made you alive. Not because you earned it. Not because you cleaned yourself up first. Because He loved you. Think back to the night — or the slow season — when that truth first broke you open. What did it feel like to realize you were forgiven for something you couldn't undo yourself? That memory isn't nostalgia. It's fuel. The love that saved you hasn't changed, even if your awareness of it has grown dim. Today, let yourself remember not as an exercise, but as worship. Gratitude for where you started is often the fastest road back to where your heart used to be.
