Scripture Reading: Isaiah 41:10
10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Reflection:
Isaiah 41:10 is a promise worth underlining: do not be afraid, for I am with you. Notice what God offers. He doesn't promise a fair trial or a quick fix. He promises himself. In Joseph's prison, Genesis tells us the Lord was with him and extended kindness to him, giving him favor with the chief jailer. The cell didn't change at first, but Joseph wasn't alone in it. God also promises strength, and it isn't your strength or someone else's. It's his own.
He holds you with his victorious right hand, not a weak or defeated one.
That means you can be honest today, tell him you're confused, tired, even angry, and still lean on him. You don't have to hold yourself together. Ask him for favor, courage, and hope, and expect him to answer. His presence is not a feeling that comes and goes. It's a promise he keeps.
Application Question: What would it look like to lean on God's strength instead of your own in the hardest part of your week?
