Who do you trust?

When you trust someone, you’re confident they’re acting in your best interest.

Imagine you’re in a life-or-death situation, and two different strangers say, “Trust me!” Which one would you choose to trust with your life?

Okay, that’s probably not going to happen.

In reality, trust develops over time. And our trust levels can go up or down as we rebuild trust after it’s been broken.

We bring this same idea to our relationship with God. The Bible is full of stories about people who struggled to follow God. In Isaiah 31:1, we read,

“What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.”

The Israelites had turned away from God and worshipped other gods and nations. This verse reminds us that trusting God can sometimes feel cold and difficult. When we face unanswered prayers, human suffering, or another challenges, we might find it difficult to trust God too.

I encourage you to change that mindset!

God is perfect. God is loving, and God wants what’s best for you.

And He will never force you to trust Him. God gave you the freedom to choose or reject Him!

Here’s the important thing: Trust God and experience His peace. If you choose to reject Him, you’re removing yourself from His protection, and sorrow will follow.

Remember the “life or death” situation I mentioned earlier? Chose God, and experience a life that truly matters.
