Perfect Peace

Life is filled with ups and downs.

Some days are amazing. They are filled with laughter and joy. Those are the days we long for.

Life is never perfectly peaceful.

There are seasons when the sun hides behind clouds, and life is filled with sadness. It’s on those days that we might feel lost, wondering why we’re going through this.

Jeremiah wrote,

Why then does my suffering continue? Why is my wound so incurable? Your help seems as uncertain as a seasonal brook, like a spring that has gone dry (Jeremiah 15:18).

Have you ever seen leaves floating on the water on a beautiful fall day?

Mental therapists use the image of a floating leaf to help people release things that take away their peace. The idea is simple: just put your worries on the “floating leaf” and watch it drift away instead of letting it weight you down.

Instead of letting life’s challenges steal your inner peace, what if you took your burdens to Jesus?

You don’t have to carry them alone.

The prophet Isaiah wrote,

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed in You” (Isaiah 26:3, NLT).

Find joy in God’s perfect peace!
