Be courageous.

A few years ago I walked up a lot of stairs at Banning Mills to step off a perfectly good platform. As the guide was connecting a very thin rope, I asked him if he had ever done this. Without hesitation he said, “NO!”

The butterflies in my stomach were fluttering. I stepped to the edge and looked down 110 feet. Many thoughts flooded my mind … what if the rope breaks … what if it doesn’t slow down … what if I break my legs … why did I do this … what about my “man card”?

About that time, I heard my sister-in-law giving words encouragement to jump.

I told myself, “Be courageous!”

I starting counting down and walked toward the edge of the platform. Without hesitation I walked off it and fell toward the ground. And survived.

Whenever you’re facing a new adventure, job, relationship challenge, or financial struggle, God wants you be courageous. He told Joshua, “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them. Then you will be successful in everything you do” (Joshua 1:7).

If you want to be successful, you must trust God as you obey his word. No matter what you're going through, God will walk with you each step of the way.

God’s peace and protection will be with you.
