About
I am a Christ-follower . . . someone who seeks to bring a smile to God’s face by loving Him and every person. I am a husband, a father, a son, and a brother. I have been a worship pastor, youth pastor, senior pastor, and church planter. Most recently, I was the pastor of River Ridge Church, a church plant in Douglasville, GA. Currently, I am working at Altus Healthcare and Hospice as a chaplain in Villa Rica, GA.
I am on one of the most incredible journeys of life. Learning to trust Christ in everything is easier said than done. Learning to accept with grace what life dishes out is challenging. Accepting the consequences of your prayers is tough. I don’t know what the future holds, but I am certain God has a great adventure waiting.
The toughest part of my journey right now is that I am not preaching to a crowd every week. But, I am convinced God will open that door in the near future.
When Rhonda and I left Orlando to plant a church, we were pumped! Unfortunately, we started just when the economy took a nose dive, the housing market crashed. And that scenario made raising money a little tough. Planting a church was the hardest thing I have ever done; but I do not regret it. God called us to plant a church. In River Ridge’s short two year history, 112 people showed up for the first service; around 5,000 showed up for our Easter Egg drop event; over 60% of our regular attenders were previously unchurched; and 90% of our regular attenders have joined other churches since River Ridge closed. Rhonda and I think of River Ridge as a “successful failure!”
Making the decision to close River Ridge was the hardest thing I have ever done. For now, I am a real life missionary just like Paul of the New Testament. My mission field is large, and I intend to honor God with every breathe I have!
