After reading the Scripture from today’s SOAP plan, God pointed out three things to me. First, the plans for the Tabernacle were very specific … from the materials to be used to the sizes of various components. God designed you, just the way you are, to honor Him with your life. Celebrate who you are and serve Him with all of your heart.

Second, the Tabernacle was expensive. Not only was a place for the people of Israel to worship God, it represented God’s presence among the people. The creator of everything is worthy of such a place. It should represent the best we have to offer. And, for every follower of Jesus Christ, our body is the living temple of His presence … your life should reflect His glory through your words and actions!

Finally, the people responded to the invitation to bring their offerings of gold, silver, and other items to build the Tabernacle. The craftsman who were assigned the task of building the Lord’s Tent told Moses,

“The people have given more than enough materials to complete the job the Lord has commanded us to do!” (Exodus 36:5)

Now that’s an unusual problem! The people were so excited and thrilled to contribute that they gave more than enough. Moses told them to stop bringing an offering. May the Lord stir our hearts to give cheerfully so the work He has given us to do can be done.
