The church phone has been ringing off the hook.  People are calling with questions about the egg drop and River Ridge!  Not only are they calling me, they are calling Charles too.  People are amazed we are dropping eggs from a helicopter.  So, I’d like to answer three common questions.

  • Are you dropping hard boiled eggs?  The short answer is NO.  I really wanted to do that.  But, after a lot of discussion I agreed with our team that putting prizes in hard boiled eggs would be a little too much work.
  • Which egg will the Wii be in?  This one was tough for our team to figure out.  The eggs are small, and the Wii is much larger.  We found some eggs that were pretty big, but they were too big for the kids to pick up.  The team decided that a drawing would be the way to go.
  • Will the kids be under the helicopter when the eggs are dropped?  A few parents actually want their kids to catch the eggs as they are falling to the ground.  They told me that would increase their kid’s chances of winning the Wii.  Our team decided to keep the kids safely away from the “drop zone.”

Okay, I’m having a little fun with this.  It’s late, and I’m tired.  I don’t won’t to offend anybody.  If I have, I’m sorry.

Honestly, some of the questions I’ve heard has reminded me of comic Bill Engvall:  “Here’s your sign!”  I guess I can understand though.  Nothing like this has ever been done in Douglasville.  People are just wondering how in the world we are we going to do it.  Their questions are honest ones.  So, come on out and watch us drop candy-filled eggs from a helicopter hovering about 200 feet above the ground.  What a rush!

Awsome, this should introduce more people to Rive Ridge. I hope the Atlanta TV stations have heard about the egg drop. I sure hope so.
