Everyone talks about it and wants it. It seems that very few ever has enounh of it. People will get it honestly and dishonestly. We hold on to it as long as we can. It’s not easy for most of us part with it. We don’t like being told what to do with it. It’s mine. Check out this video from Monty Python:

Money. A recent sales call I made really illustrated the idea of how we view money. I’ve been in homes where people have told me that they want an alarm system for free. When I explain that someone has got to pay for it, a few people just don’t seem to understand that concept. They ask me, “Why do I have to pay for it?”

I could ramble on a long time about this. Instead, I’ll get right to the point. Paul wrote, “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows” (1 Timothy 6:10, NLT). Don’t let a love for money rob you of real joy. God knows your needs and has promised to take care of you (see Matthew 6:33). God is interested in our relationship with him more than anything.

Bottom line . . . love God more than money and the stuff it can buy.
