Rhonda’s family has been at our house for a long weekend. After her mom passed away last year, all of her earthly possessions were stored in our basement. The brothers and sisters decided to go through everything on Labor Day weekend because two brothers live out of state.

There has been a lot of laughter and a few tears in the past few days. We had a special family worship service Sunday morning. It was really good. We watched the lasar and fireworks show at Stone Mountain. It was good. We have donated a lot of stuff to Goodwill, and taken off some trash. The division of Granny’s stuff has been smooth and Christ-like; no arguing, no fussing, no anger, and no hurt feelings. That is AWESOME because some families don’t handle that part too well. They know that family relationships are more important than stuff.

The party is almost over. Everyone is gathering at our house tonight to finish up going through some pictures, books, and other things. Everyone is meeting for lunch with some of Granny’s sisters and brothers tomorrow. I hope to make it, but may not be able to. I have to drop some paperwork at my new employer in the morning. I have a new job to “pay the bills” while serving as River Ridge’s pastor.

Life is about to change!

Awesome! That is good for River Ridge. I know that it will be harder for you. Thank you for all that you do!!
