A lot of people associate a church with a specific building.  A church is much more than a building . . . it’s all about people.  I’m not sure if you remember when you could use your fingers and hands to make a church, a steeple, and then open it up to see all the people.  (If not, let me know and I’ll make a video for you and post it here!)

You can have the most beautiful building or the plainest one.  It can be furnished with the most lavish pews or the highest end audio/video system.  You can pour thousands of dollars into it or get it dirt cheap.  When you get down to the bottom line, it’s just a building.  The church is nothing more than people who gather there to worship and serve God.

I hope we don’t forget that simple truth.  We may worship in a 3-car garage that has some carpet on the floor, wayne’s coating & sheet rock on the walls, a projector hanging from the ceiling, black drapes hiding the garage doors, a small sound system, and some chairs.  But without people, it’s still a garage.  It was designed to park cars in.  For the time being we’re using it worship God in.

So, take a look at the picture below.

the garage

It’s a garage that has been prepared for people to worship God in.  But there are no people in the picture.  Without people, there is no church.  Let’s fill this garage with people.  And while we’re at it, why not try to fill it at least twice on Sunday!
