We have a new president elect.  In GA, we may have a run-off for the senate.  I hope not.  I don’t really want to listen to 4 more weeks of negative half-truth TV ads.

I have avoided expressing my political views on my blog.  I have done so because I don’t want to alienate someone who may have a different political view than I do.  I will say that change was coming regardless of who was elected president.  So, I’m getting ready for change.

There is one change, though, the president (or congress for that matter) cannot do anything about.  No one but God can change a heart.  Only God can give grace that results in a changed life and an eternity in heaven.  My focus is on that more than the political scene.

Don’t get me wrong.  I’m going to vote.  I’ll encourage others to vote.  I may even try to convince others that my political view is right.  I guess what I’m trying to say is that I think “Christians” have tried to regulate morality from Washington for too long.

That’s not what Jesus did.  He went right after people.  He told people to turn to God and turn away from their sin.  He challenged people to follow Him.  He promised his presence and protection.  He promised to take care of those who followed Him.  Jesus forgave sin.  He gave people grace (something they and we don’t deserve).

Everyone who trusted Jesus changed.  I don’t know about you, but that’s “change I can believe in!”
