There are times when I don’t feel like praying.  I don’t like that feeling.  I’m a pastor.  I should pray no matter what.  I should pray with excitement and anticipation.

I know what the Bible teaches about prayer.  God is all-powerful.  God owns everything.  God loves me.  God wants to hear from me.  God listens to me.  Even though I know all that, there are times I just don’t feel like praying.

In my self-centered world, it’s as if I don’t think God cares, God will listen, or God will answer my prayer.  I guess there are times when I don’t feel prayer really makes a difference.

Poor me.

It’s doesn’t matter what I think or feel.  Truth is truth.  Whether I feel like it or not, God is interested in me.  He wants to spend time with me.  Prayer is not a way for us to get God to do stuff for us.  Prayer is communication.  It is talking to God and listening to Him.  Prayer makes a difference.

I confess.  There are times when I don’t feel like praying.  I’ll talk more about this on Sunday.
