One of the hardest things in the world is to do is to get people who don’t do church to attend church.  I’m not interested in being the chaplain of a religious club.  I believe Jesus wants his church to be a dynamic place where people connect with God and grow in their faith.  That means the church should be growing.  It should be reaching and keeping new people.  I believe the majority of the new people should be those not going to church rather than those coming from other churches.

In west GA at least 8 of 10 people do not attend church on Sunday.  I want River Ridge to impact our community.  I want us to change that statistic.  In fact, if every church in our area filled up every available seat this Sunday there would still not be enough room to hold everyone.

River Ridge has a great team.  I’m proud of every imperfect person!  Our team works hard because they believe in what we’re doing.  But here’s the deal.  We could use some more people who are sold on reaching a generation separated from God.  I don’t want people who want a nice comfortable church where you work a little or none.   I am praying for some people who don’t mind getting their hands dirty.  If you are of tired of the same old thing week after week and want to be involved in something bigger than yourself, give me a call.  Better yet, visit River Ridge.  Why not get up and do something?  Live a little.  Take a risk.

I’m also praying for money.  It takes money to reach people.  A lot of people in west Ga have never heard of us.  They don’t know what they’re missing.  They don’t know how spiritually sick they are.  They don’t understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus.  Many think they can get along fine without the church.  They don’t get it.  God did not design us that way.  We need God and his church.

When I started River Ridge over a year ago, I wanted to be a part of something much bigger than myself.  I wanted to see hundreds of lives changed.  We are making a difference, but we are not making the impact I dreamed of and prayed for.  Someone might say that I just need to wait on God and enjoy the moment.

Here’s the thing … when I sensed God calling me to do this I knew time is short.  I’m praying for an old-fashioned revival and spiritual awakening that will impact the lives of hundreds if not thousands.  Each day that passes is one that is gone forever.  And each day that passes means that we are one day closer to the end of our days.  Time is wasting.  So, I’m praying for people who are sold out for Jesus to join us and for God to supply the money to get the job done.
