Most people have no problem talking about what’s wrong.  Just turn on the news and you’ll hear how “bad” things are in the economy or Washington.  If you listen to what others are talking about, someone will complain about their job, spouse, church, pastor, bank account, kids, school, daycare, traffic, grocery store, etc.  So many people are trapped by negative thinking. It seems to dominate.

I propose a change (if you fall into the negative thinking category).  Try thinkinng about some positive things.  That what God wants us to do.  In Philippians 4:8 we read “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing.  Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise” (New Living Translation).  How different would your life be if you begin to focus your thoughts on those things?  I believe your whole outlook on life would change.  Stress levels would go down.  You’d smile more.  Shoot, you might even find that life is fun.

Thanks Sam, I needed the reminding. I’ve been dealing with lots of complaints in my new job and it was getting me in the complaining mode also. My frustration came out this evening with some volunteers, no excuses, I should have been more patience. Then later, God keeps me humble, I disappointed someone. I did make a wrong decison but it is not the end of the world and now that I think about the evening, a lot of things went right and I did serve a lot of people.
Thanks again for being obedient. Douglasville is blessed to have you. Karen
