I have several radio stations programmed in my truck. I often find myself hitting those buttons to see what’s on the other stations. But, those stations don’t pick up once you leave the Atlanta area. While some signals are stronger than others, sooner or later I will get a lot of static and will be forced to change the station.

Our spiritual life is like that. In 2 Chronicles 15:2 we read, “The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you” (NLT).

There are times when I really sense God’s presence and power. The “signal” is strong! Then are those times when God seems far away. It seems all I get is a lot of static. God is always there. His “signal” is alway strong. When God seems distant, the problem is me; not him. I have drifted from him.

When those moments occur in our life, the solution is simple. God longs to spend time with us, but he will not force himself on us. All we have to do is seek him. And here’s the beauty of it . . . God is not hard to find! Open the Bible and start reading. Ask God to speak to you. Listen to some “Jesus” music. Sing a spiritual song. Look outside and meditate on the power of God’s creation. Stop talking and listen. Make a decision to “do what God wants you to do.”

When you honestly seek God, you will find him. And when you do, why not stay tuned?
